Talisman Revised 4th Edition Character Guide: Troll

Friday Fantasy Show - The Bottled Imp - Episode 153 Talisman Revised 4th Edition Character Guide: Troll The Bottled Imp loves Talisman: the magical quest game. Ken has been travelling the realms in search of the fabled Talisman for many a year, way back when Games Workshop released their First Edition in the early 1980s. He loved playing the black and white First Edition, with his mates on a rainy Saturday, exploring new lands and fighting strange creatures. When the Second Edition was released, Ken bought his first copy. It was in full colour! Many games were played, many characters died, and many victories were won. Ken’s memory is blurry when the Third Edition was launched in the spring of 1994. He could have been at university and thus drunk. Whatever the reason, he never played this edition, and by the looks of the artwork, was probably a good thing. But when Fantasy Flight revised the Black Industries Fourth Edition, in February 2008, Ken was back on board (pun obviously intended). A redesigned and bigger board, new features such as Fate Tokens, and a host of new expansions, saw Ken’s renewed love for the questing game classic. In these Character Guides, Ken will hopefully spread his words of wisdom, allowing you to gain that all important tactical advantage in seizing the Crown of Command and win the game. Ken picked the Sorceress first, as it’s his favourite character from the base game to try and claim glory. You can see the Sorceress Guide here:    • Talisman Revised 4th Edition Character Gui...   Next was the Ghoul. He starts in the graveyard as you’d expect and haunts his way around the board! You can see the Ghoul Guide here:    • Talisman Revised 4th Edition Character Gui...   The Thief was next. He loves nicking stuff as you’d expect but just what else can the thief do to claim the fabled Crown of Command? You can see the Thief Guide here:    • Talisman Revised 4th Edition Character Gui...   This episode sees the Troll come under the spotlight. Strength is the key to his chances of winning the game but be careful as he only has two Special Abilities to help you in your quest. Ken will look at each Character’s stats and Special Abilities, what best to focus on when playing that character, what spaces on the board suits each character, and what places to avoid. The Bottled Imp has given detailed reviews and how to play the game, on the base game plus ALL the expansion compatible with Talisman Revised 4th Edition.
