Destroyed 386 PC Gets Epic Restoration – From Junk to Windows 3.11!

This vintage 1991 AMD Am386 DX-40 PC arrived completely battered and yellowed—its front panel shattered due to careless handling. In this restoration adventure, I go all-in: ✅ Full teardown to fix a severely broken front case—gluing, filling, sanding, and painting. ✅ Aggressive Retrobrighting to reverse extreme yellowing and age. ✅ Deep clean-up: motherboard, PSU, and both floppy disk drives. ✅ Floppy drive overhaul: Carefully cleaning and lubricating heads for smooth operation. ✅ Fixing a noisy PSU fan with lubrication. ✅ Battery disaster prevention: desoldering a leaking-prone battery and soldering a fresh replacement.
