Hidden high on the unexplored Diba Danda, a 2,670-metre ridge in the Patti Khatli region of Pauri Garhwal, sits a small temple wrapped in silence and pine forests. It’s one of those places that doesn’t try to impress you… and somehow impresses you the most. It is near the famous Gadh Kumo Kalinka Mandir. Our journey started from our beautiful little village, Mangaron, drifting through Rashiyamahadev and Methanaghat, with rivers quietly following us along the way. I was with my niece Nikita, and the day already felt special before it even began. From the Deeba base, the trail rises gently into a forest that is completely different from any other I’ve walked in deeper, quieter, almost dreamlike. And the best thing about this hike? Every kilometre brings a new surprise. A bend. A valley. A breeze. A light shift. Like the mountain is revealing itself slowly, chapter by chapter. And then, at the top | Deeba Mandir (दीबा मंदिर). Simple. Silent. Sitting on the peak as if watching over the whole valley. Some journeys don’t ask for big moments. They become memorable because of how they made you feel.
