On-Board a Spring Valley bound Metro-North EXP NJ Transit Train 1629 from Secaucus to Spring Valley
Taken: August 09, 2018 It is weird how Train 1629 was moved to Track F rather than Track H because there were no trains at the time and that Track H usually serve trains bound for Spring Valley. I apologize for the crappy video. One of these days, I will try to remake it and actually get a good seat on the train and in both directions. Only reason I failed was because of a machine malfunction at Middletown, NJ while I was buying my ticket that caused me to miss the first train, so I could not make it to Hoboken without missing the train. I had to improvise and stay at Secaucus Junction. There were formerly four Metro-North express trains running on the Pascack Valley Line during AM and PM Rush total that make only 5 stops: two in New Jersey (Hoboken Terminal and Secaucus Junction) and three in New York (Pearl River, Nanuet, and Spring Valley). Due to Positive Train Control installations, only two Metro-North express trains remain. I am not sure which one remains on the AM rush hour, but 1629 (the earlier Metro-North train) remains. This is one of the shorter Metro-North express trains (three Metro-North Comet V cars and a NJ Transit GP40PH-2 #4203 locomotive pulling the set). It is kinda weird how the train terminated at Spring Valley because it only had three passenger cars and terminated on the Main Street crossing tracks rather than terminating fully at the station itself (meaning all three cars and the locomotive are adjacent to the platform). Overall, I really like the horn sound and sequence on the NJ Transit GP40PH-2 Locomotive #4203 as we bypassed several crossings and I'm glad to capture the sound of the horn outside of the train. I also am aware that the dirty glass on the train make it very hard to see outside, but once again, I will try to remake the video on a later day. At 40:42, you can hear the conductor saying "You know it's that door, right?" because he was telling me that since Spring Valley is low-level, this door would not open and only the vestibule door would since it has stairs that can accommodate to low-level platforms. At 46:18, peep how the Coach Bus cannot turn due to the Railroad crossing gates that are down because of the train doors that are opened. GET TROLLED! (I am a child, lmao). Other than that, there really is not much to say about this video besides what I said, so I really hope you guys enjoyed regardless. If you have any questions, feel free to ask away and also, please like, comment, subscribe, and share this video! :D
