Why the sixth generation of consoles was the best generation...
I'm an old man the video. But in all seriousness this was a pretty great time to be a gamer. The PlayStation 2 and the Nintendo GameCube had one of the greatest collective games library of all time. The sixth generation of consoles just had a lot going for it. Entire genres were created and mastered in this era like the "character action genre" or the "open world" genre. Think about how crazy it is that we had Devil May Cry and Grand Theft Auto all figured out in this time period. Horror games reached their apex with games like Silent Hill 2, and Resident Evil 4, to this day those are still some of the best horror games you can play. There were also a lot of little accomplishments along the way. Metroid made the jump into 3d with Metroid Prime, Metal Gear Solid had its greatest outing (MGS3). 3D graphics started to look amazing to the point that some of those games have stood the test of time. We just had so many highs hit that I feel we will never reach them again.
