Supreme Court Sides With Trump on Two Major Immigration Cases | Haiti, Syria & Remain in Mexico

The U.S. Supreme Court handed President Donald Trump two major immigration victories Wednesday, expanding his administration's power over immigration policy in back-to-back rulings — both decided 6-3 along ideological lines. In the first case, the court ruled the president can revoke Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitian and Syrian immigrants, potentially opening the door to the deportation of hundreds of thousands of people. The Department of Justice successfully argued that the administration's TPS decisions are not subject to judicial review. In the second case, the court revived Trump's "Remain in Mexico" policy — formally known as the Migrant Protection Protocols — from his first term. The administration argued that migrants who have not yet reached a U.S. port of entry cannot claim the right to apply for asylum. All six conservative justices sided with the president. All three liberal justices dissented.
