Its name literally means “Cordes above the sky.” ☁️🏰 Built in the 13th century during the Albigensian Crusade, Cordes-sur-Ciel is a fortified bastide known for its steep cobbled lanes, gothic architecture, and breathtaking views over the valley. Once a haven for artists and thinkers, this medieval village is a living storybook of southern France.
