The TRIUMPH TIGER 1200 RALLY PRO - DESERT EDITION is, by almost any objective measure, an extraordinary motorcycle. It’s blisteringly fast. Immaculately built. Packed with technology. Mechanically advanced in a way that’s impossible not to admire. Spend time with it and you quickly realise just how much engineering, ambition, and capability Triumph has poured into this machine. And yet… after riding it, living with it, and thinking about where it actually fits into our lives - we wouldn’t have one. Not because it isn’t good. But because we struggled to understand what we would use it for. Off-road, it promises everything - but it's big, heavy, and immensely powerful in a way that feels like too much rather than just enough. For commuting, it’s tall, sharp, and overqualified. For long-distance travel, it never quite felt like the bike we’d choose to disappear on for days at a time. This review isn’t about specs or comparisons. It’s about feel, intent, and lived experience, and about the uncomfortable truth that a motorcycle can be genuinely brilliant, yet still not be the right bike.
