A Tough day photographing dippers on an English river
So in this video today I am going down on an English river, not one that is frequented by many people at all, very much out in the wild and somewhere where I managed to photograph my first juvenile dipper last year. There were probably 3 or 4 pairs nesting along this river last year; however, this year, after spending a few days going up and down at several points over the last month, I've only noticed one or maybe 2 pairs of dippers in an around A 1-mile stretch, so not as fruitful as last year. This video proves exactly that, this is my third or fourth day I've spent out now we're trying to photograph the dippers trying to find them and locate the nest. But eventually, on this day, I did manage to find out where they were nesting and spent the last part of the day actually watching them and photographing them as they came to and from their nest. Not an easy day, the light conditions proved very difficult, with bright sunshine, very contrasting light with shadows from the trees and leaves and the bright rocks and the reflections on the water made it very difficult to actually lock onto the bird and being able to photograph them. So just sit back and enjoy this short video of me out on the river enjoying some wildlife photography.
