Build a Custom Suitcase Boom Box!
Speakers + Vintage Suitcase = Awesome Sound? Jesse wrote in, "I have been looking into building a stereo suitcase. I want to make it myself instead of buying similar online custom models." We love this project... find out how to build your own suitcase boom box in the video! It's fast, fun, surprisingly cheap if you upcycle speakers, looks great. Your friends will be amazed! (And then they'll start dancing.) A more nuanced explanation of the Ohm rating is coming next week. But to add to what was stated in the episode- most car speakers are rated at 4 Ohms. If you properly match your speakers and amp, 4 or 8 Ohm speakers will work... 4 ohm speakers are just harder to drive, so make sure you have enough amp if you pick 'em.
