TRIP REPORT | First Time on Etihad A380! | London to Abu Dhabi | ETIHAD Airbus A380

Etihad Trip Report flying from London to Abu Dhabi onboard one of the Etihad Airbus A380 on a beautiful winter day. A very comfortable flight from London Heathrow to Abu Dhabi Terminal A (the brand-new one in Abu Dhabi) on the Etihad Airbus A380. The flight was absolutely fully booked but still, as we flew on the most spacious plane in the world, the journey was pretty comfortable. After a quick exploration of Heathrow Terminal 4 as well as a brief planespotting session, we boarded the Airbus A380 that would take us to Abu Dhabi. We took off towards the west and quickly made a 180° turn to start our route to Abu Dhabi. We initially flew over the UK and crossed the English Channel. We left Amsterdam on our left and entered Germany. Here is where we spotted the first snow: Germany was completely under the snow. We continued towards Austria, Hungary, and Romania. We then crossed the Black Sea towards Turkiye. We crossed all Turkiye from Northwest to Southeast, enjoying very nice views of all the mountains and coastline. We then reached the border with Iraq and flew over the Zagros Mountains. After crossing all the country we entered the Persian Gulf, flying already in direct course to Abu Dhabi, where we landed after a beautiful night approach. About the catering service, I have mixed feelings... the quality and taste weren't bad, but the quantity was reduced. It didn't feel special at all, that's how I would describe it. While it would be an amazing meal on almost every European airline, on Etihad... well, you expect more I guess. [On my connecting flight departing from Abu Dhabi the catering was extremely better, so I guess it is a problem with a bad catering provider in London]. Now it's your turn!
