Day 17 Vlog Mount Wilis is a long-dormant Type B volcano located in East Java Province, Indonesia. Mount Wilis spans the administrative boundaries of six regencies and one city in East Java: Kediri, Tulungagung, Nganjuk, Madiun, Ponorogo, and Trenggalek. The highest peak in the Wilis Mountains complex is Puncak Liman or Trogati, at 2,563 meters above sea level. However, there are also other peaks that are popular climbing destinations, such as Puncak Limas (2,349 meters above sea level) and Puncak Jotani (1,595 meters above sea level). Mount Wilis has several popular hiking trails with varying levels of difficulty and views. One of the routes we will take is from Trenggalek Regency via Boto Putih, with a peak called Puncak Kahyangan (1,520 meters above sea level). History: The slopes of the Wilis Mountains were once a route used by General Sudirman before the General Offensive of March 1, 1949. Furthermore, this mountain also witnessed the civilization of small kingdoms such as the Gegelang Kingdom before the Majapahit era. Legends and Myths: Mount Wilis has a legend about the creation of humans on Java. The mountain's ancient name is Mount Pawinihan. There are also mystical stories about the existence of a supernatural kingdom, sightings of spirits, and cases of missing climbers. Note: Although a Type B volcano that has been dormant for a long time, Mount Wilis has an eruptive history that is uncertain.
