Pinball Can't Exist Without This
Pinball machines are full of moving parts, but there's one component that makes the whole thing possible. In this video I break down the coil (aka the solenoid) and show you exactly how it works using some 3D printed models I made to visualize what's going on inside. Coils are what power your flippers, pop bumpers, kickers, and just about every other bit of action on the playfield. Once you understand how they work, you start to see pinball in a whole new way. Huge thanks to Social Food Hall in Elizabethtown for letting me film with their machines. If you're local, go check them out. Great food, great vibes, and of course, some pinball.
