Lapponia Finlandese - Ecco cosa fare al Polo Nord (parte 1/2)

Lapland is a vast region of northern Europe and is part of 4 nations: namely Sweden, Norway, Finland and Russia. Its main attractions are undoubtedly winter sports and the famous Northern Lights. With this video I have the ambition to show you and get to know Finnish Lapland up close, also providing you with lots of useful information that you will find during the video and at the bottom of the description. Day 1: Our trip to Lapland starts on the evening of March 28th, precisely from the Helsinki station, where we wait for the night train that will take us to Rovaniemi. Arriving at Rovaniemi station we take the car and head north towards our first house which is located near Kittilä. In the afternoon we have no plans and we take an exploratory walk in the surrounding area. Day 2: The second day is dedicated to e-fat bikes (ie electric snow bikes). We go towards Ylläs, a hill of just 718 meters which nevertheless is one of the highest peaks in Finland. To the north, at the foot of the hill, is Äkäslompolo, the village where our excursion will start. The route we have chosen is a loop ride of about 19 kilometers around the hill next door. The difficulty is of medium level. If you happen to be in the Kittilä area, you cannot miss a trip to the Snow Village, which would be a hotel made entirely of ice. Admission costs € 19 and inside there is both the restaurant and the rooms decorated with beautiful works carved in ice by the best artists. Day 3: For the third day we leave Kittila and move to the city of Santa Claus, or Rovaniemi! Immediately after lunch we take a tour of the town, heading towards the ice hole, that is, a hole in the ice where the locals take a bath. Next to the ice hole there is a heated shed (22/24 °) where it is possible to change. It is a truly fantastic experience and I recommend you try it!
