Akraminia then assessed that the cessation of US airstrikes was not simply about creating space for diplomacy. He claimed that this move indicated that Washington was running out of strategies to pressure Iran. According to Akraminia, the American airstrikes failed to control the Strait of Hormuz or weaken Tehran's defenses. "US airstrikes cannot help them control the Strait of Hormuz or weaken Iran's defense capabilities," he said. He also said that the conflict has now spread to the Bab al-Mandab Strait. In that region, tensions have escalated after the Houthis blocked shipping linked to Saudi Arabia. To date, the US government has not issued an official response to Iran's claim that Washington is running out of strategies in the conflict.
