The lyrics for this one took a while to get right. Kilo wanted to adapt Tidal Rush as more of a “confrontation” song, and I (a fool) initially just wanted to play it totally straight as Marie trying to save her hapless sister from the clutches of DJ Octavio, but we settled on a sort of mix of the two — with Marie reaching out to Callie while also apologizing for pushing her away and trying to make amends — and I’m so happy with the results. Kilo also inspired me to reprise our original lyrics for Tide Goes Out and Bomb Rush Blush, which was another stellar idea.
