Jumping ahead in our Tree to Sea series, the new Pasana Group sailau, built by hand at Lumolumo Village, sets out on her maiden voyage to Dawson Island. This is more than a journey — it’s a revival of ancestral knowledge, craftsmanship, and ocean connection. Join the crew as the canoe meets the wind, waves, and the living heritage of the Kula ring Pasana Group is Papua New Guinea's first traditional canoe building and sailing school. It is a community organisation dedicated to preserving and teaching the rich traditions of canoe sailing and building while promoting sustainable fishing practices among the youth of Milne Bay, Papua New Guinea.
