O God, who cares for everyone, who brought forth the spirit from nothing and carried it in the body to the time when He chose to transfer it to His eternal dwellings, this is the one for whom Isaiah, the great voice among the prophets, prophesied, saying: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel,” which means, “God with us.” Also, Isaiah the prophet added, saying: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, upon whose shoulders shall be the government” (Isaiah 9:6). The mighty and sovereign God, and the angel of the great counsel, the righteous and inexperienced counselor who is with God the Father before all, Jeremiah the great prophet prophesied, saying: “For Zion I will not be silent, nor for Jerusalem I will have no hope.” And this chaste prophet returned, saying: “There is an antidote in Gilead that heals the daughter of my people. Let us go to Gilead to receive the medicine from that place” (Jeremiah 8:21). Gilead is the apostolic university, the Church. The antidote in it is the body and blood of Immanuel, and the daughter of my people is the true bride who received purity from her beloved Son, Jesus Christ. Ezekiel, also a great prophet, prophesied, saying: “I saw a gate in the east, sealed with a marvelous seal. None but the Lord of hosts entered it; he went in and came out, and it was shut as it had been” (Ezekiel 44:2). This wise prophet Ezekiel continued, saying: “Behold, I saw a chariot raised in the sky, and four faces around the chariot: the face of a lion, the face of an ox, the face of a man, and the face of an eagle in the place where the chariot was going, and the pulleys were moving in the direction of the chariot.” And a human hand from under the chariot (Ezekiel 1-2). I heard their voice above the cherubim, crying out, “Come, come, O man of God, prophesy!” (Ezekiel 10). And that voice is like the voice of the Lord of Hosts that I first heard on the River Chebar, saying to me, “O man of God!” Also, Daniel, the great prophet, prophesied, saying, “I saw a high mountain, and it was cut down, for no human hand had ever touched it” (Daniel 2:34). And here the wise prophet returns, saying, “I saw with my own eyes the Lord of Hosts on the clouds of heaven, like the Son of Man, and his clothes were red from Bozar. He was given dominion and authority and power and victory after he became man, and his dominion is an everlasting dominion.” His years will not perish, and follow the words of the wise prophet Isaiah, who said: He is not an angel nor an archangel, but He is one with God the Father who is before eternity. This is Jesus Christ, the righteous and eternal counselor with God the Father. Truly, this is Jesus Christ, the High Priest, like the order of Melchizedek, who bowed down and became man for the salvation of mankind. This, by His own will and the pleasure of His Father and the Holy Spirit, bowed down the heavens and was incarnate of the Virgin, and was baptized by John, and ascended the cross, and descended into Hades, and was taken captive, and rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven, and His angels went out to meet Him, singing to Him, and He became our King. For this reason, we ask and entreat You, O Lover of Mankind, bless us, show us the holiness of these offerings placed upon them by the power of Your Holy Spirit, so that with a pure heart we may dare to cry out to the Holy God who is in heaven and say: Our Father who art in heaven...
