I Made my favorite Latvian Food for My Kids… 🇱🇻 but They Asked for something Filipino instead 🥘 🇵🇭

Some Latvian foods are a little bit like durian. You don’t always understand it the first time. Sometimes you need to try it again and again… and one day suddenly you are like: wait, why is this actually so good? 😅 This cold beet soup is something I really love. It’s pink, cold, sour, fresh, with kefir, eggs, cucumber, dill… very Latvian summer food. But my kids asked for something Filipino after that. So I made pork adobo. And you know what? I actually love this mix in our home. Rice with adobo… and next to it some Latvian salad or cold soup. It sounds strange, but somehow sooo delicious for me. It feels like taking the best from two cuisines and putting it on one plate 🍽️ 🥰 Latvian food and Filipino food are so different. Completely different worlds. But in our kitchen they meet all the time. And the kids are always very honest judges 😂 So… what did they choose this time?
