It subtly tells the story of self-harm. I tried to make the melody and lyrics cute. Comparing it to painting red with a soft brush, comparing the stripes to the patterns of different animals. If I had stripes like you, and could camouflage myself (hide) like you, or drive away predators (things that harm me), wouldn't that be nice? But in the end, because the lyrics are quite heavy... It inevitably makes the melody slower, haha. I chose a 5/4 time signature, an odd time, because I've wanted to try it for a long time. I also wanted to convey that it's something people often don't understand, that they see it as distorted or abnormal. This song wasn't intended to trigger, but rather to offer embrace. I want to tell those in this situation that there are people who understand and want you to be happy. I ended the song with a hopeful sentence: "Someday, the scars will fade, both in your heart and on your body." I wish everyone a smile and to find their own source of strength.
