Shipwreck Coast
In 1851 Victoria had a population of 77,000 people. By 1861 (just ten years later) the population of Victoria was 540,000 – which was half the total population of Australia. People were rushing to Victoria in the hunt for gold. Most of them arrived by sea, with ships carrying people and ships carrying the supplies they ordered in from overseas and ships carrying the gold they dug up and sent back to England. Each of these ships faced the same treacherous conditions along the Western Victorian coastline. This area of Victoria is called the Shipwreck Coast. Every passenger and crew member knew of the tragic shipwrecks , but they had no other option for travel. Every shipwreck has its story of tragedy and heroism. Come and sail the high seas with me to explore some of the stories of the Shipwreck Coast. 📚 The free booklet to this episode "Finding Courage to Meet Life's Challenges": 📚 https://tij.tv/offers/finding-courage/ 💿 Similar Topics: 💿 Australia’s 10 Deadliest • Australia's 10 Deadliest Legacy of Eureka • Legacy of Eureka - The Incredible Journey The Great Ocean Road • Great Ocean Road -The Incredible Journey Vivid • Vivid Sydney Shipwreck Coast • Shipwreck Coast Fatal Shore - The Loch Ard Shipwreck • Fatal Shore - The Loch Ard Shipwreck The Extinction Tragedy of the Tasmanian Tiger (Thylacine) • The Extinction Tragedy of the Tasmanian Ti...
