Everyday Nightscapes | Making the most of your local foregrounds | Landscape astrophotography

I confess my favourite sort of nightscape photography is when I'm in dramatic locations - a rugged coastline or up in the mountains. The "fix" I get from shooting the night sky in places like that is incredible - being alone in an amazing landscape, with mountain air or the sounds of the sea crashing on the rocks - nothing beats it. But that's not my reality most of the time. I live in the flattest part of the UK, a good 90 minutes from the coast and quite a long way from dramatic scenery. So most of the time I'm searching for the interesting among the ordinary. And I think that's what it's like for most people most of the time. So on this episode, I take advantage of a short weather window to make the most of the ordinary - the sort of subjects that most people will have within a short walk or drive from where they live. _____________ I use this channel to share my experiences of being out in the landscape at night photographing the night sky. I want to inspire others to give it a go, and also provide a route for those who can't get out to enjoy some of the experience.
