This is the second part of a conversation looking back at the special exhibition "Murakami Takashi and the Murakami House" at Magazine House Expo. Following on from last time, we'll be delving deeper into the behind-the-scenes production with Casa BRUTUS Editor-in-Chief Nishio Yoichi, and now Akiyoshi Hiroki and Kurobe Shunto of the architectural group "VUILD," who brought this ambitious project to fruition in such a short space of time. It all started with a single email from Nishio to VUILD. Despite the crazy three-month schedule, VUILD readily agreed. Originally, the house was a single building, but the MM Brothers' idea and VUILD's ambitious proposal to "showcase our intricate modeling techniques" led Kurobe of VUILD to describe it as "the most challenging project I've taken on since joining the company." But for Murakami, producing creative results in a short space of time is business as usual.
