This is a raw, intimate video of my most personal song to date, "take me back home." This video was filmed in a single, continuous flow inside my mother's apartment. I am performing this song sitting on the very chair where my grandmother, my mother, Luxi, and so many of my closest family members have sat over the years. This chair is a piece of my history—a physical anchor of "home" that represents the safety, history, and love I spent so long running from. "Take Me Back Home" tells the story of getting lost in the relentless pace of city life—running from pain and trying to replace it, numb it, or erase it with all the wrong things. "I chose the city lights to guide me through dark times, but they only took me further away from home. This song is a realization, a plea, and an apology to the people who love me, to those who have stood by me, and to myself.
