Sweetcorn, also known as field corn, is an inexpensive bait and good groundbait for carp fishing. However, sweetcorn straight from the bag is far too hard. That's why in this video I'll show you how to easily prepare field corn for fishing, soaking it and letting it swell. You can also cook the corn, but you don't have to. All you need is corn, water, and a glass or a bucket. It's important that the corn remains completely submerged in water. After at least 24 hours, it will be significantly softer, begin to ferment, and can be used as groundbait, particles, or as a hookbait on a hair rig. Fermented corn is fine. Moldy corn is unusable. As soon as it's moldy, discard the corn and don't use it in the water.
