Fixing broken imported surfaces in Fusion 360
Sometimes - when you import a file into Fusion 360 from another CAD system - you won't get a watertight solid. Knowing how to repair these kinds of files to make them suitable for manufacturing is a next level skill in Fusion 360, and its a sure way to save yourself a lot of headaches. See how it's done here. Note: these kinds of issues most often occur with imported IGES files. Something about the mathematics of those files makes them problematic for most mechanical CAD systems. Fusion - like others, has specialized functions to deal with them. Good Luck!
