Is This Camino Rule Ruining Your Trip?
We didn't walk every single mile of the 150 from Porto to Santiago, and it was the best decision we made. This is our honest day-by-day itinerary for the Camino Portuguese -- including where we stayed, what we'd change, and why skipping stages let us actually enjoy the walk instead of just surviving it. 12 days. 150 miles. Costal Route. Private accommodations. No pretending it was perfect. I cover the full route from Porto to Matosinhos, Vila do Conde, Fao, Castelo, Ancora, Caminah, Valenca, O Porrino, Pontevedra, Caldas de Reis, Padron, Santiago de Compostela -- with all the calls we made when our feet said, "no more." If you're planning a Camino Portuguese and wondering whether it's okay to do it how you want to -- yeah, it is. At the end, I go over a few things we would do differently and discuss a few apps that we found super-helpful. I'm a retired educator and former wilderness guide covering budget-friendly gear and practical trail/travel advice. If you find this useful, please consider subscribing. Thanks for watching!
