How to Fill Out a Leggy Tradescantia Nanouk | Easy Soil Propagation Tutorial
My favorite plant, Pinky, (apparently a tradescantia nanouk) had an extremely tough winter so Ciara devised a plan to rescue this lovable little plant. Tradescantias - sometimes referred to as a Wandering Jew (Ciara is not a fan of that nickname) - generally grow vine-y and are bald on top so in order to make a fuller, more attractive Pinky we propagated him directly in soil. It is apparently common for these plants to grow long, wandering vines and start to become leggy, rather than full at the top. I sadly did not get to use my shovel but I did get to have some time with the scissors to cut his dead leaves off. The rescue mission was an absolute success. This little nanouk is now happy and healthy and is slowly starting to look like the Pinky I know and love. Caption by Molly
