Chery TIGGO 9 review – what is a super hybrid anyway? | Road Test

The Chery TIGGO 9 is the new flagship, seven-seater model from Chinese manufacturer Chery. And while it looks a lot like the TIGGO 8, this latest model has been given some significant upgrades – making it bigger, faster and more eco-friendly than its predecessor. First up, it features Chery’s much-hyped Super Hybrid System. Living up to its name, it offers an electric-only range of 91 miles, perfect for daily driving, and packs a mighty 422bhp and 428ln ft of torque. Considering this is a 2.3-tonne family SUV, it’s very quick off the mark. Throw in an eye-opening amount of tech and luxury equipment and you’ve got a very practical and comfortable SUV, with plenty of space for the whole family. And while it may be a slightly more expensive than the TIGGO 8, it’s still more budget-friendly than some of its rivals, like the Kia EV9 and Hyundai SANTA FE. Want to know more?
