AppleREFPOP: Accelerating Apple Breeding

🇩🇪 Im Jahr 2016 hat das Versuchszentrum Laimburg die AppleREFPOP gepflanzt, eine Referenzsammlung von Apfelsorten für die Apfelzüchtung. Sie umfasst über 530 Sorten, die in sechs europäischen Ländern (Italien, Frankreich, Spanien, Polen, Belgien und der Schweiz) unter unterschiedlichen klimatischen Bedingungen und Bewirtschaftungssystemen angebaut werden. Die AppleREFPOP bildet die Basis für zahlreiche internationale Forschungsprojekte, wie zum Beispiel für AppleBIOME und PHENET, und stellt ein zentrales Instrument für die Züchtung und Innovation im Apfelanbau dar. 🇮🇹 Nel 2016 il Centro di Sperimentazione Laimburg ha messo a dimora AppleREFPOP, una collezione varietale di riferimento per il miglioramento genetico del melo. Comprende oltre 530 varietà coltivate in sei Paesi europei (Italia, Francia, Spagna, Polonia, Belgio e Svizzera) con condizioni climatiche e sistemi di gestione differenti. Viene utilizzata in numerosi progetti internazionali, come ad esempio AppleBIOME e PHENET e rappresenta uno strumento chiave per il miglioramento genetico e l’innovazione in melicoltura. 🇬🇧 In 2016, Laimburg Research Centre planted a part of the AppleREFPOP, a reference collection of apple varieties for apple breeding. It comprises more than 530 varieties that are cultivated in six European countries (Italy, France, Spain, Poland, Belgium, and Switzerland) under different climatic conditions and management systems.
