Old Age Isn't Easy
Yes, we can decide for ourselves how we will live our new age. Each morning is a reboot, perhaps the most important one as we wake to another day! But shame on me if I implied that it was easy. The older we are the wiser we are. It’s a wisdom born of so many things. Of life and death, hard work, love and despair, many joys and many tears. For me, it’s the people I’ve lost over the past few years (and the beloved dogs and cats, too), of the words unspoken, and memories of who they were and when they left. It’s not easy. It’s profound and meaningful and important. It’s the peaks and valleys, the fear, the joys of each new day on this plane of existence. It’s choosing to be the joy and to live with the sadness. It is life.
