Teen Turned A Trip To The Mall To A Life Sentence Plus 70 Years

What began as a feud with another teenager at a local high school escalated into a series of incidents that put him on a GPS monitor and under increased scrutiny. But on February 22, 2025, a trip to Columbia Mall would end in tragedy. As teenagers gathered at one of Maryland’s busiest shopping centers, chaos erupted near a crowded bus stop. Sixteen-year-old Michael Robertson and 15-year-old Blake McCray lost their lives in an incident that shocked the community and left families devastated. Surveillance footage, witness testimony, and digital evidence would eventually point investigators to Emmertson Zeah. During an emotional court proceeding, he asked the judge for mercy, but the court determined the severity of the crime warranted a harsh punishment. He was sentenced to Life plus 70 years in prison.
