▼ In Brief ▼ The Thirty Years' War in the 17th century was devastating for Central Europe. Entire regions were devastated and depopulated. The Swiss Confederation managed to stay out of the conflict militarily, but the Free State of the Three Leagues (later Graubünden) was caught between the fronts in the turmoil of Graubünden.
