Arriving in the Faroe Islands 🇫🇴 | Waterfalls, Villages & Our First Impressions

After years of dreaming about visiting the Faroe Islands, it finally happened! Join us — Steve and Amanda — as we touch down in this breathtaking North Atlantic paradise for the very first time. Our journey begins with a direct flight from London Gatwick to Vágar Airport, where the adventure starts the moment we step off the plane. The scenery here is like nothing we’ve ever seen — dramatic cliffs, green rolling hills, and the sound of distant waterfalls filling the air. Before we’ve even checked into our accommodation, we find ourselves stopping at every corner of the road, completely amazed by the landscape. One of our very first stops is the spectacular Múlafossur Waterfall in Gásadalur — a place that truly looks like it belongs in a fairytale. Watching the waterfall plunge straight into the ocean with mist swirling around us was an unforgettable welcome to the islands. Next, we drive towards Sandavágur, where we visit the beautiful Sandavágs Kirkja, a charming red-roofed church surrounded by lush green hills. It’s peaceful, picturesque, and gives us our first glimpse of Faroe Islands village life. Finally, we make our way to Norðragøta, our home base for the trip. After settling into our apartment, we take a walk around the town — colourful houses, boats bobbing in the harbour, and locals enjoying the long summer evening light. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a day full of new sights and experiences. This video captures our first day in the Faroe Islands, full of excitement, wonder, and pure natural beauty.
