202306 27km via Reintal Zugspitzplatt Zugspitze filmed with Insta360 Go2

During a few days vacation in Garmisch in June 2023 we went on a few hikes and trail runs. We started this hike around 08:30am in Garmisch (708m Alt.). Our Plan was to hike through the Reintal up to Zugspitzplatt (2600m Alt.) from where we believed we could get on the cogwheel train back into the valley for free with our "Kurkarte" a sort of tourist card. It had stated that "Talfahrten" - valley trips - are included in the card. Well, little did I know that this meant trips in the valley e.g. from Garmisch to Farchant, but not TO the valley from mountain tops! We found out when we arrived at around 15:45 at Zugspitzplatt (2600m Alt.) by the very friendly employee. The next cheapest thing, next to walking back down, was a 40 Euro ticket each. With that we could take the cable car up to the Zugspitze (4min ride) and then another cable car all the way down to Grainau in the valley. So we squeezed out 80,- EUR total and enjoyed a magnificent view from the 2962m high Zugspitze.
