Building Prayer Momentum
We need to have our foundation in Christ. We need to know who we are because when we know that and we start building, we're going to have something that's going to stand the test of time. Winds, waves, whatever, storms, it will stand. So in building, we have to have a foundation. So I said we were going to describe words, define words, because defining words really does expand your understanding. All right. So let's read what foundation is. A foundation that on which, that on which anything is based or supported. You hear that? That on which where anything is supported. So if we are saying that we are in Christ and we're basing what we're doing on him, it is supported. It's going to stand. Does that make sense to everybody? We've got to have this foundation in Christ to build. Now let's talk about prayer. Prayer is our converse, our conversation with the Lord. And it is the intercourse of the soul with God. And it's not contemplation, but it is direct access to him. Prayer may be oral, meaning out loud, out of your mouth or mental, or it may be occasional or constant. But the name of this room, the boardroom is it needs to be constant, not occasional. We need to be praying all the time. There's nothing about no occasional thing right now. We need it to be constant, but that's the definition. It needs to be constant. And then the last thing I want to define is momentum. Momentum. It is the quality of motion in a moving body. This is always equal to the quantity of matter multiplied in velocity. So momentum is a force, is a force of motion. You're, you're, and you, you're pulling, you're pushing things forward and it, and it's multiplied. And so it needs to be aggressive sometimes. How often do we have to be a little aggressive in prayer to press past how we may be feeling? A little sleepy, a little exhausted, whatever it is. So you have to get over into an aggressive state to get past all of that in prayer. And then there's a velocity that is built, meaning a swiftness, a swiftness that happens when we start building our prayer. There's a swiftness that starts to happen in your prayer. It becomes accelerated. So I wanted to define these words because again, I just want to stress that we have to have a different perspective and a different view and not just get caught up in the routine of what we've been hearing. Because when we get in the routine of what we're, we're, we're hearing sometimes the effectiveness of it is lost.
