Introducing Mystery Fields! New Challenge for Weekend Puzzles

Big news! We've heard from some of you that weekend Fields puzzles needed more challenge, so we're introducing something new: Mystery Fields. What's a mystery field? It's a numbered field where you don't know how many cells belong to it. That question mark could be a field of one, or it could be 23 cells. You won't know until the entire board is complete—no color changes to give you hints! Watch as Jo and Anastasia tackle the very first mystery Fields puzzle together, demonstrating new solving strategies: ✓ Orphan cell logic still applies: Mystery fields can't leave cells stranded ✓ Testing field sizes: Working backwards to figure out if a mystery field could be 4, 9, or something else ✓ Separation requirements: Mystery fields follow all the same rules—same colors can't share borders ✓ Path analysis: Using distance and available routes to deduce mystery field sizes ✓ Elimination by overcounting: Proving a path doesn't work because it would make a field too large Mystery Fields will appear starting Friday through Sunday to add extra challenge to weekend puzzles. Monday-Thursday stay mystery-free for a gentler week start. 🧩 Play today's puzzle at inkwellgames.com 💬 Questions about mystery fields? Join Inkwell Insiders on Facebook
