Every theater begins with a coat rack, and every examination begins with proper preparation! Proper preparation for PET/CT with fluorodeoxyglucose (also known as 18F-FDG, FDG, or simply glucose) is especially important, as without preparation, the examination will be in vain and will not provide the necessary information. Each PET center communicates preparation information to its patients by issuing or sending patient information sheets. However, there are aspects that, unfortunately, are not always mentioned in the preparation guidelines but can significantly impact the examination, or even cancel it altogether.
