It’s funny how anticipatory grief messes with the human mind - and in part, I think, that’s because it is so…big. Its tentacles reach into the deepest pockets of our emotions, yet we can’t put a single word to the feeling. So, in turn, our minds scramble for a word that will put this…thing, this monster under the bed, into a shape we can identify, a feeling we can give a name to. And on certain days, like today, shame, guilt and regret wrestle for the spotlight. Sharing these moments with you remind me to be OK with what I can’t control, and release all the nonsense that goes along with it.
