I had planned a family hike in early October. I hesitated because Yeona and Doeun had colds and weren't feeling well, but I decided to push through and go anyway, fearing that delaying it any longer might mean giving up on seeing the autumn mountains of Almaty. Watching the video, I felt a bit sad seeing Doeun, who is usually full of energy, looking so listless, but I was satisfied that she kept up well and we made it down safely. It seems we should go in late September or early October to see the birch forests of Mt. Alma-ara dyed in autumn foliage. I am planning a trip to Mt. Alma-ara for the first week of October 2026 and Lake Issyk for the second week.
