Violet the donkey gives birth to Britain's only known living twins
John Stephenson, 77, was left stunned when his donkey Violet unexpectedly gave birth to the healthy twins on his farm, in Stanley, County Durham, over the weekend. He had no idea she had been expecting twins, an incredibly rare occurrence in donkeys and has named them Ronnie and Reg, after the Kray twins, crime lords in London during the 1950s and 1960s.
