GD&T: Composite Profile Inspection Demonstration
I explain a composite profile requirement and show how to inspect on a surface plate. I briefly discuss the reporting requirements of ASME Y14.45-2021. This technique of applying profile with a basic dimension to surfaces is strongly encouraged by ASME Y14.5-2018. I attempt to explain why it is not that different from using a plus-minus tolerance as far as manufacturing is concerned. 0:00 Explanation of composite profile 4:19 Setup on surface plate 6:40 Profile- Locating 9:57 Profile- Orientation
