Synopsis: In the Sierra de Aracena, the Cabrera's Water Shrimp has been rediscovered after 50 years. This semi-aquatic shrew, previously unknown, is very elusive and highly prized because it is only found in well-preserved waterways. Beyond the surprise of its discovery, for those in charge of the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche Natural Park, it is an interesting bioindicator of the quality of the area's rivers and streams. But how is the environmental quality of the waters in a Natural Park monitored? We'll explain it, with the help of the Lutra Association, in the next report.
