In this video, we highlight several enhancements designed to make structural modeling more precise, faster, and easier to control. The workplane is now even more powerful. Instead of positioning it manually, users can define it directly from existing elements. Simply select an element, and the workplane automatically snaps into place, aligned with its position and local axes. This helps reduce guesswork and keeps modeling accurate across different element types, including linear elements, planar elements, load areas, and supports. Advance Design 2027 also brings new visual improvements to help engineers better understand and manage their models. Claddings/load areas can now display different partition types for climatic purposes, making assumptions clearer both during modeling and in calculation reports. Inactive elements are also easier to identify, with a dedicated visual display and customizable color settings. Finally, BIM workflows are improved with enhanced data exchange with IDEA StatiCa Checkbot. Users can now update an existing Checkbot model, export continuous elements without splitting them, and transfer non-linear load cases from Advance Design for connection design.
