The Mutt: A hot-rod 1966 Porsche 912
The Porsche 912 had the body of a 911, but with a four-cylinder from the outgoing 356, it came with a lower price. For Rick Becker, Pacific Northwest Region member and 912 & 912E Register Advocate, it was the perfect mix of performance for the price when he bought his '66 used in 1977. It's always had faded "matte" paint since he's owned it, which is now part of the charm. But underneath the body lies a hot-rodded air-cooled flat four, fresh mechanicals, tons of original parts, and a whole lot of history. Watch the video above or read the October 2017 issue of Porsche Panorama for the full story.
