Volvo XC90 2021 - TEST PL (B5 Mild Hybrid Diesel 235 + 14 KM Inscription)

The second-generation Volvo XC90 is the flagship, largest SUV in the Swedish brand's lineup. This model underwent a minor facelift in 2020, and just before 2021, I had the opportunity to spend a few days with it, resulting in a video test of the car. I was given the opportunity to drive a model with a B5 diesel engine generating 235 hp, supported by a mild hybrid system that added 14 hp. The car had AWD all-wheel drive and an automatic transmission. The Volvo SUV I was reviewing had seven seats and belonged to the top-of-the-line Inscription trim, and was further enhanced with virtually all optional extras. The term "full-on" is therefore apt. During my test of the facelifted XC90, I checked out its dynamics (including 0-100 km/h and 90-140 km/h acceleration), fuel consumption, and the diesel engine's flexibility. I also assessed the handling, trunk and rear seat capacity, and whether the quality was adequate for the premium class. I summarized all my observations about the 2021 Volvo XC90 in this video.
