Afternoon at the Bird Pond - Let's See Who Shows Up!

This week's video was all recorded during one afternoon. From around 4:00 to 6:00pm is what I think of as "rush hour" at the bird pond. It's the time of day that most consistantly has a good variety of birds. By late afternoon and early evening, the sun is out of the tree tops, insect activity is slowing down, and the birds are starting to wrap up their day and prepare to settle in for the night. It's also a nice time to film because the lighting is less harsh and neighborhood noises have quieted down. I think a couple newly fledged Tufted Titmice make an appearance in this video. It's always difficult to tell with Titmice, because they leave the nest looking almost exactly like the adults. The dark patch above the beak is lighter on the young birds, though. And young birds are often a little clumsy during their first vists to the pond. It's always fun to see the new babies arrive. Thanks for watching! Stay safe out there and I'll see you next week!
