The Smith DSA-1 Miniplane by Ken Blasius at SoCal Warbirds and Classics, 2022
This is Ken Blasius' very good looking, and very good flying Smith DSA-1 Miniplane at the SoCal Scale Squadron's Warbirds and Classics event held recently in Irvine, California. Although this may look like a Pitts Special at first, this is actually a fully different airplane that came out in the mid 1950's, aimed at the home built market. A bit of trivia: the "DSA" in the aircraft designation stands for "Darn Small Airplane"! While there are model kits available of this plane (Sig Manufacturing, for example), Ken completely scratch built this fine little model. As always, please Comment, Like and Subscribe! Oh, and don't forget to hit that Notification Bell! Blue skies, happy landings and all the best to you!
