2013 VW Jetta TDI Review: Ultimate Diesel Sedan for Power & Efficiency
Subscribe now: / @usedcarstv http://www.autobytel.com/volkswagen/j... The Volkswagen Jetta resides in the most competitive automotive category in the world: the compact car segment. Over the years this class has been dominated by the Japanese brands but Volkswagen has managed to carve out a spot with the Jetta. This small sedan offers German engineering and design at a very reasonable price point. Add to the mix a very fuel efficient turbocharged diesel power plant and the Jetta TDI really starts to distance itself from the rest of the pack. The 2013 Volkswagen Jetta TDI has a base price of $23,055. Research shows that one point or another in your lifetime you will probably own a compact sedan. Most often compact cars are bought by young people who cannot afford a high end car or the empty nester looking for reliable transportation. There are a lot of choices in this segment. From Japan you have the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, and the Nissan Sentra. From Korea you have the Hyundai Elantra, and from here in the U.S. here is the Chevy Cruze, Dodge Dart, and the Ford Focus. So you can see there are some very recognizable cars in this segment. One thing that set the Volkswagen Jetta apart is that it's engineered in German which translates into a world class European ride that none of the aforementioned competitors can match. Another thing that sets the Jetta TDI apart is that Volkswagen is committed to diesel technology. The 2.0 liter turbocharged diesel 4-cylinder has an impressive 236 lb-ft. of torque making this one fun to drive fuel efficient car. Another thing that adds to the fun factor is a 6-speed manual transmission. Volkswagen is part of the VW/Audi group so in turn the car gets a lot of help in the design department. The 2013 Volkswagen Jetta looks more sophisticated than any other car in this segment. On the inside, the interior of the 2013 VW Jetta TDI is very clean, comfortable, and sophisticated. There is a very German feel to this car. The overall industrial look makes it appealing to buyers. Being a German car company, Volkswagen really understands what it means to drive a car not just own one. Because of that they put a lot of attention into things like the seats, the steering wheel, and the engine. For about $23k you get great fuel economy in a wonderfully styled car.
