The focus of the film is the desert, probably near 29 Palms where the U.S. Army trained at the outset of WWII, prior to landing in North Africa as part of Operation Torch. At 1:02, troops prepare to use a net with irregularly spaced color strips that will confuse enemy aircraft. At 1:45 a gun emplacement is shown hidden by this kind of netting. At 2:00 a slit is shown in the net allowing artillery to fire freely. At 2:46 a troop of men show how to fold a camouflage net.
